21 โ€” 26 JAN 2027

We're all set for an incredible safari adventure! Read through the notes below carefully โ€” they'll make the journey smoother for everyone in the group.

โœˆ๏ธAt the Airport

Getting there, comfortably

A few notes before wheels-up on the overnight flight to Nairobi.

Arrival Time

Please be at the airport at least 3 hours before departure.

Lounge Access

Carry a credit/debit card that offers lounge access if you have one โ€” useful for rest and food before the long journey at:

  • Chennai International Airport
  • Mumbai International Airport

๐Ÿฆ“
๐ŸŒค๏ธWeather & What to Wear

Dressing for the savannah

January is dry season across the Mara โ€” expect warm, sunny days and noticeably cooler mornings and evenings out on the plains. We'll share a closer forecast nearer to departure.

Pack

  • Comfortable, breathable clothes
  • Neutral colours โ€” beige, olive, brown, khaki
  • Light jacket or fleece for early morning game drives
  • Comfortable walking shoes

Avoid

  • Very bright colours
  • Heavy perfumes

๐Ÿ“ถSIM Card & Connectivity

Staying (a little) connected

A local SIM won't be available at the airport โ€” our flight lands early morning and we head straight for Masai Mara on arrival. Activate an international roaming pack on your number before you leave home.

Wi-Fi at camp Patchy reserve signal Slower speeds than home

Also a great chance to disconnect from phones and just take in the plains, the light, and the animals.

๐Ÿ˜Safari Etiquette

During game drives & sightings

Respecting these rules means better sightings, and keeps everyone โ€” and the wildlife โ€” safe.

  • Maintain silence near animals
  • No sudden movements or loud talking
  • Always follow the guide's instructions
  • Do not feed or call out to animals
  • Stay inside the vehicle unless instructed

What to carry, and why

Carry USD in small denominations.

You'll need cash for

  • Arrival-day breakfast
  • Pre-departure-day dinner
  • Tips โ€” safari guide / driver & hotel staff
  • Personal spends โ€” souvenirs, upgrades, drinks

๐ŸฅHealth & Safety

Looking after yourself out there

  • Stay hydrated
  • Carry any personal medicines you take regularly
Please tell us ahead of time
Any allergies, medical conditions, or special dietary requirements โ€” your comfort and safety matter for the trip.
08
๐Ÿฆฉ
๐Ÿ“ธPhotography Guidelines

Shooting the trip responsibly

  • No flash photography near animals
  • Always ask permission before photographing local people
  • Drones are not permitted
09
๐Ÿ˜
๐ŸงณLuggage

Please travel light

"Less luggage, easier travel, more comfort for everyone."

Less luggage makes transfers and game drives much easier. Prefer soft bags or duffels over hard suitcases if possible.
